What’s Happening
Our Club will be hosting the 2018 National Meeting (NatMeet)

NatMeet is a biennial meeting of MX-5 club members from all over Australia to share pleasurable social and sporting interests based on the common enjoyment of owning and driving an MX-5.

The venue for the 2018 event will be the Barossa Valley based at the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort from 8th to 13th April. A range of activities including motor sport; a Concours d’Elegance; runs through the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, and Clare Valley; and a host of food and wine experiences are planned for this week of fun in your MX-5. We have chosen these dates to make the most of the comfortable weather while avoiding Easter and the School holidays but still capturing the splendour of the season at this time of the year – particularly in the Barossa.

The popularity of NatMeet seems to be on the increase in recent years, as it offers and ideal opportunity to expand individual social horizons by meeting other like-minded MX-5 enthusiasts from all over Australia. The NatMeet held in Tasmania in Feb 2016 attracted 184 members and was a huge success.  We have already exceeded this figure

We planned initially for 180 attendees and were overwhelmed by a rapid spate of registrations in early November 2016 that exceeded this number by about 30%.   We revisited this limit and revised the figure upwards to 200.   This is a physical limit on our venues.    We have published a standby list as we expect withdrawals for a range of reasons.

Cost

What do I get?

The cost per person for the event is $700.  This is based on best available cost estimates. 

We are planning to host a high quality event that covers most of your costs while you enjoy the world class venues here in the famous Barossa Valley and experience both the Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills.   This cost includes:

  • The welcome night BBQ at the 5-star Novotel Resort, Sunday evening
  • Dinner at the renown Seppeltsfield winery ‘Barrel Room’, on Monday evening
  • Dinner at the ‘Vine Inn’, Nuriootpa, Wednesday evening
  • Presentation Night and the farewell at the Novotel Resort, Thursday evening
  • Farewell breakfast at the Novotel, Friday morning before departure
  • Bus transport to and from the restaurants Monday and Wednesday nights to ensure your comfort and safety
  • An appreciable but responsible drinks package included with all four evening meals
  • Lunches on all four days including the proposed runs and at the Concours event.

We have put considerable effort in to balancing cost and quality while ensuring every guest will have the opportunity to experience the best the Barossa has to offer in the way of hospitality, entertainment and features.
