The Mazda MX-5 Club of SA was formed in October 1990 with the aim of enhancing the enjoyment of owning the world’s most popular, affordable, and reliable sports car. Since then, the Club has grown to over 250 financial club members.
Our aim is to provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment for like-minded Mazda MX-5 owners and drivers whether their preference is purely social, historic or motorsport. We have members of all ages and from all walks of life. This is a club for everyone and we would welcome your involvement and contribution.
All members have one thing in common – the enjoyment of owning and driving the Mazda MX-5.
The Club organises regular social events and participates in sporting events throughout the year, enjoyed by male and female members alike.
Social activities include on average, 2 club runs a month, normally held on a Wednesday and Sunday. This endeavours to allow for those who work during the week and for those who have free time on weekends. The runs can be North, South, East, and West of the Adelaide CBD. We also hold Annual Mid-year and Christmas luncheons.
We maintain close contact with the interstate Mazda MX-5 Clubs and participate in the biennial National Meet (NatMeet). Our club hosted the first NatMeet in 1994 and through the rotational process hosted again in 2002, 2010 and 2018. NatMeet XV is being hosted by the Mazda MX-5 Club of Queensland in Toowoomba in April 2024. The Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW will host NatMeet XVI in 2026. Mazda Australia generously supports our major activities.
In the gap year between NatMeets, our club and the Mazda MX-5 Club of Victoria and Tasmania rotate hosting a weekend together. The last Biennial was hosted by our club in Clare in April 2023.

The Club has a small team of dedicated motorsport enthusiasts who are always looking for new members and helpers to join their group.
Through our affiliation with the Marque Sports Car Association of SA and relationship with the Sporting Car Club of SA, the Club participates in sprint days at the Mallala Motorsport Park and The Bend and Hillclimb at Collingrove. We also participate in Motorkhana at Mallala Motorsport Park. Members get the opportunity to legally test themselves against the clock and others in a safe and controlled environment.
