Supersprint
Supersprint racing is a popular form of motor sport.
These events are held at:
In Supersprints, multiple entrants are on the track at the same time with roughly 4 – 6 groups (1st – fastest, 6th slowest/new participants) competing individually throughout the day. There can be at least a dozen cars in every group. Cars are lined up in pairs on the grid and flagged off at intervals by the starter in the starter tower. Positions on the grid are determined from times achieved during practice periods (only required if new to racing or testing your car) and nominated times, with the faster cars placed at the front of the grid (Groups 1-2 e.g.). Slower cars and new entrants are positioned at the rear of the grid (Groups (5-6 e.g.). Passing is permitted on straight track but for safety reasons not on corners.
Racing can be undertaken in either road cars or modified vehicles, though open sports cars are required to have an approved rollover bar.
Please contact the Sporting Secretary if you are interested in competing.
MX-5’s is one of the best cars for circuit racing and there are many varieties of different versions competing in the club. For anyone new or interested in Supersprinting their MX-5, come along to one of the Supersprints and interact with our team to get a better understanding of the event.
Please contact the Sporting Secretary if you are interested in competing.
